A recording of me and my music teacher (I am the soprano, he is the countertenor) singing Purcell's 'Sound the Trumpet' during my A2 recital.

Please excuse the pianist (a last-minute appointment) and my nerves...

  • Nice work. Kudos to both of you!

  • This is very good, well done! I take it there are more recent recordings to which it can be compared?

  • this is the first amateur video on youtube that I've listened to where the people can actually sing . . . I mean this song needs work sure . . . but you can tell even with all the mistakes that the singers voices are great . . . bravo

  • He's got a fantastic voice! I'm trying to improve my upper register at the moment. Very difficult! Just lots of practice needed.

  • This is so good. It also proves a point I've been trying to make to by friends about the different timbre's of male and female singing, no matter what pitching. Thank you! I do hope you got a good grade for this, you deserve to.

  • nice!

i like how you roll your Rs so beautifully! :D

your trills need some work though, esp those at the top, needs more "bounce" and not so much of a line.

your countertenor teacher did it beautifully :)

anw your teacher has a nice countertenor voice! hahaa does he sing in the alto range?

  • you should work on your enunciation, this particular piece doesn't call for quite a cheery voice as the one you provided. With that said your diction is good in some parts. Keep working and you will get it down!

  • Well done , well sung ! Bravo !

  • youre a great soprano (remember vowels)

i wish i could do this duet with you

  • lovely and charming :)

    thanks for sharing this!!

    Tammy
