  • @manamal769 - Arthur Baker & John Robie were the masterminds behind "Planet Rock". They were about as white as white could get. Rick Rubin who also is the mastermind behind Def Jam Recordings produced the first release for the label through Arthur Baker's Streetwise Label.

Let's not forget that "Planet Rock" was also based on Kraftwerk, so add four more white boys.

And what Baker's sound evolved into was Latin Hip-Hop or Freestyle which was Puerto Rican based. But included everyone.

  • Gostei!!!

  • Ask Afrika about Kraftwerk. Hip Hop Is Youniversal.

  • @LAMAN1TE2000 very true, but if you have read my comment above, i said the roots are black, and if you want to compare hiphop electro to coffee, and i think 99% of the world would agree with me, milk suger and a bit of spice just makes the taste even more awsome.

    regards

  • @markash1971 Hip Hop is like Coffee, if you want the true essence of its flavour you have to have it black, ...you can add milk, cream & sugar to make it more palatible but without that black coffee you only end up with flavouered milk & when frozen it can turn into VANILLA ICE !..........the ROOTS of hip hop are BLACK, indeed other cultures have helped to make shape its success thats true, but without the seed & root you have nothing !

  • ]oh well theres one person who kept me from getting at u cause he said i scare u (send as a message)

  • bullshit, electro was a person thing, no black no white

  • @markash1971 with you there geezer as i listened to it from 1980 still dress with the style and have a ghettoblaster and can do the windmill and have 6 kids and im not black

  • @markash1971 That was a point i was trying to make the roots come from black so it is black music. And the key words are "In the beginning" not at the beginning ..there is a difference. Also, i was referring to the misusage of the word "black." Black represents all and hip-hop was rooted in party music and conscious lyrics not necessarily fighting white society but that became a part of it since it also represented our struggles with white society.
