Archaeological Park lead archaeologist Sara Acconci talks about archaeological method and the new excavation project trying to reach the tunnel system near the base of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. August 25, 2011.
Donations are needed for the Archaeological Park Nonprofit Foundation.
The mission of the project is to excavate four pyramids (two of which are larger than the Great Pyramid in Egypt) and one temple, as well as the Ravne underground tunnel labyrinth that goes for tens, perhaps hundreds, of kilometers.
For some reason, the labyrinth was filled with a loose mixture of sand and small river rocks, either by the culture that created the tunnels or by a subsequent culture. There are millions of tons of material to remove, and all the work must be done by hand.
The nonprofit needs light-weight wheelbarrows, carts, picks, fiberglass shovels, volunteers, and much much more.

@zaneher7 Hi zaneher7, alternative methods are available. The factors are time, timing, money, permission, and possibly others. We will pursue this particular excavation site and others to find a way into the tunnel chambers that have been found by georadar to exist beneath the Pyramid of the Sun. Please let us know any ideas that you have. :)

@roadsweeper69 hi roadsweeper, the Foundation was not able to find a larger "digger" machine in Bosnia. the one that was used was not strong enough to get through the last 60 centimeters of concrete. if you know of any companies in neighboring countries who would donate a larger digger machine for a day or two, please reply to this comment. thanks.
