In this video, we have connected a Weburban Magnolia Arduino Clone Board with a Weburban BlueOlive Bluetooth board. It's emulating a serial connection to a paired Android device (Motorola Droid X).

On the Android side, I'm using SENA BTerm to view the data coming in from the Arduino.

  • can you pair a jailbroken iphone via bt?

  • @shebotnov I assume so, since outputting to a regular mac is really simple. Our BlueTooth board emulates serial so the connection can be found using shell in tty.

  • @weburbanllc but you didn't try, right? The problem with an iPhone and BT is that iPhones doesn't speak "full" BT standard but only that thing for headphones for transmitting audio. So I don't know whether it can be used as a serial connection.

  • @shebotnov Well, I did try connecting it with a regular mac (as seen in the demo) which it can see as a regular serial connection.

  • Im looking to make a bluetooth based audio base station possibly using the blueolive board. I am fairly inexperienced with electronics but is there a way to use this bluetooth board and an audio jack? I maybe over simplifying it...

  • yeah!
