Bless the pharmaceutical companies for coming out with the SSRIs that have helped numerous people diagnosed with anxiety disorders (such as those with depression or OCD), but damn them for pathologizing normal human responses!

In my opinion, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the way to go, SSRIs combined only for legitimate cases. Hopefully with CBT, in time the patient could gradually break away from the drug and be able to face life with more resilience! ;)
