Racer X guitarist Bruce Bouillet gives some insight into his high-tech heavy metal soloing style in this instructional video, with special attention given to the basic modes, pentatonic and blues scales, and arpeggio sequences. The latter department is really where Bouillet is most helpful, as he demonstrates how to sequence various arpeggio ideas all over the neck; much of the other information is fairly rudimentary. Includes some live performances of Racer X instrumentals featuring the rhythm section of that band.

  • @doom666kratos Paul was Bruce's teacher and he's also the one that got Bruce into Racer X. Just FYI.

  • What is the complete equipment of it? dude, I understand English, some other things are not enough. If someone could help me, I thank you.

  • @owlsrfun47 Dude, check out the "Intense Rock" by Paul Gilbert! are very good too.

  • @MimicDaravon Oh, I just noticed, as some others have pointed out, that the charts are correct; they are just upside down.

  • @MimicDaravon Further, the fretboard chart for the Aeolian scale at 6:20 is wrong. He plays it correctly, though, so watch his fingers instead of learning it from the chart.

  • The chart at 5:16 has a mistake. The name of the mode starting on A should be Aeolian (the natural minor scale), not Ionian (the major scale).

  • Upside down btw

  • funny how ott the effects were, i wouldnt use any of that stuff today looks like a load of crap. Even gilbert wouldnt use it nowadays.

  • wouldnt mind getting this for a laugh. What a band.

He is an uber player, what happened though i mean he died a death after racer x until a rcent g3 tour when gilbert pulled him out.

  • any one else have this on that plastic ep that came with the guitar world magazine lol
