@needausernameokay your obviously missing something, this music is probably the most highly responsive form of jazz, as shown here. These guys are really locked in to the groove, it's not hard to hear, maybe you have some sort of bias but it's clearly there. You'd have to try not to percieve it, so be more open minded. This music is very old so it's too late not to get it, its already an established part of the lexicon for about half a century.
