I created this tutorial to help a fellow Youtube user. I demonstrate one method of many ways to decal details on to geometry that is more complex than a flat plane or cube. We utilize Maya in this video for the geometry manipulation and Photoshop to create the file texture with alpha transparency.

  • i got a problem, after a while i install maya, i dont see the export as fbx or object file, what shoud i do

  • @dranoel1963 The software license shouldn't impact the ability to export either of those file types. Go to Windows->Settings/Preferences-­>Plug In Manager and scroll down the list of loaded plug-ins. Ensure that "objExport.mll" is checked "loaded". By default it isn't turned on, and you have to manually check it on. That's the plugin that allows OBJ export. Also in that same list make sure fbxmaya.mll is check "loaded" as well. That controls the FBX export. You need to download the FBX plugin :)
