How to play Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken (Lloyd Cole)

This is how you play Are Your Ready To Be Heartbroken (Lloyd Cole and the Commotions) in open tuning. Astonishingly, according to Lloyd himself, it was written in standard tuning, which makes it a little tricky to finger. Odd because I'm sure you can hear the top open D ringing out on the record (must be my imagination). Anyway, apparently Lloyd has to compromise on the key melodic chord of the riff live (in standard tuning) because it's so hard. You can use this same riff in open D tuning with Capo V which might work for Lloyd (he writes and plays a lot in that tuning). So this is, very humbly, my gift to him ;-)
