The Kathina Ceremony is a day where buddhists gather to make formal offerings of the robe cloth and other appropriate requisites to the Sangha after the Sanghas rains retreat - lasting for 3 full months prior to Kathina Day.
In addition to the Kathina Day Ceremony Celebration this year, well also be celebrating both the Lunar Mid Autumn Festival (中秋节)) and the 44th anniversary of SPBS !!
Thats 3 events in 2 days!! Whow!!
On 3rd October 2009, well come together in the lights of lanterns & under the grace of the bright full moon to commemorate the founding of SPBS and the celebration of the Lunar Mid Autumn Festival in Santi Monastery.
Who likes a mooncake under the natural light of the moon, chatting amongst the cries of the crickets, sitting by the river while enjoying the breeze of the cooling forest?
Following that (4th October 2009) , Kathina Ceremony will be held between 7am to 12pm !
This is a once in a life time opportunity! Grab it!
May it be one memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone! =)
