Please help me classifiying the other species from Lake Malawi.

In this video you can see a tank of a Fishkeeping fair near my hometown (in Duisburg) called "12. Zierfische & Aquarium 2009 und 1. Internationalen Cichliden Tage".

We have a video of many tanks of this fair.

The population of this tank:

- Rostratus / Fünffleckmaulbrüter (Fossorochromis rostratus)
- Livingston's Cichlid / Schläfer (Nimbochromis livingstonii)

  • Pretty good tank!

  • @animalmastermtd:

Yes, true! Thanks for your comment!

  • n03lzz.

@ :07 lower left hand corner are 2 Protomelas sp. Spilonotus Tanzania, aka Red Empress

Also the multiple fish that are silver in color with 3 spots and a yellow line running down their backs are Otopharynx lithobates (Zimbawe Rock ) In time these fish will turn bright blue and retain the yellow on top.

  • @GOdupont24:

  • He's got some bombacious females in there to play with =D

  • What are the plants in there. Finding it hard to keepplants in me tank with the mbuna. Looks stunning by the way.

  • Beautiful Fossos you got there as well as the other africans. I sure miss mines! My male was also a stunner.

  • Gorgeous tank. I normally don't enjoy African cichlid tanks with plants, but yours is an exception! I'm a little biased since you have rostratus & livingstonii (two of my three favorite rift cichlids). I haven't even stocked my 100 gallon and I already want to upgrade to a larger setup.

  • Very Nice, Rostratus are very rare in the states, only see them on youtube.

  • Thats a very nice fossochromis!!

  • Beautiful tank and fish! i think ill get rid of my black background and get a blue one, looks better. Fossorochromis rostratus are my fav cichlids, i have 2 in a mixed peacock tank, both are around 4" at the moment.

    Again, beautiful tank.
