Losar 10th Day: Gigantic Thankga of Guru Rinpoche Unfurled a

Here we see the enormous Thankga of Guru Rinpoche that is unfurled during the first month of the New Year on the 10th Day. The camera pans to show the primary school, to the left of the thankga, and Khentul Gyangkhang Rinpoche's residence, directly across from the Thankga. The Thangka is unfurled over the highschool dormitory. The field in which the blessing ceremony is held is primarily used for soccer practice by the monks of the monastery. You'll note that local Tibetans sit in groups at a respectful distance from the group of monks in the front. Nuns stand along the edge of the field, by the trees.
