  • Screw Congress!

  • what's the song?

  • Not to mention the fact that this campaign is headed by a PRO-RAILROAD agenda.

They don't want any increase in competition.

Ever since 1976,the staggers act has allowed our railroads to EFFECTIVELY compete against trucks for service.

Allowing bigger trucks will increase competition between trucks & rail.

This will LOWER shipping costs where it's applicable.

But there are some areas where RAIL beats trucks in moving certain goods.

  • Part 5

    No Bigger Trucks Losers

The Trucking companies who will only increase shipping charges to compensate for expenses paid to the winners thus passing it on to you.

The Consumer. YOU! in increased consumer product retail purchase prices which increase sales taxes due to product increased shipping and handling charges

to the merchants, restaurants, grocery stores you patronze,

    Go figure.

  • Part 4

    No Bigger Trucks Winners:

Federal and State in collecting more Truck Permit fees, Income, Sales, and Fuel taxes

    Insurance Companies and Financial Institutions

Oil companies in sales of more fuel, oil and greases used to operate the additional trucks.

Additional Equipment and maintenance parts expenditures.

    Unions and Trade organizations

  • Part 3

Owner operators also stand to gain from the reduction or banning of Triples, Turnpike Doubles and Rocky Mountain doubles

The oil companies benefit from the extra trucks to pull those extra trailers on the road.

Enviromental pollution increases due to more trucks operating on the road

Consumers end up paying more, and higher prices means more sales tax revenues for the feds and states.

  • So. there is less labor expense overhead, thanks to triples. Of course, one less driver, let alone 2 drivers means less taxable income money paid to: Federal & State governments. Also Less vehicular and occupational insurance

liabilities charges are realized. As well as less revenues to the Teamsters unions where applicable.

  • Part 2

Beside the above mentioned benefits, there is increased cube volume space for lighter but more bulkier loads.

In addition to those benefits, for every 2 triple trucks, there is a doubles driver or 2-driver-team who are not driving.

  • Fearmongering Propaganda that's what this is - you might run over your own child, but let's ignorantly blame the big BAD truck. - Folks, what this organization is promoting is not safety but more trucks.

More trucks = more damage to the roads and an increased chance for some poor undertrained and underskilled class C driver to cause an accident.

All triples do is increased greater breaking power, less weight per tire contact to ground.

less weight = less damage. I am a retired trucker.

  • when I drive the thurway I stay in the lane away from monster trucks; I never get behind them !
