Once upon a time ago... there was a song called 'Reason For Living' composed by Mike Stock and Mike Aitken and sung by Bananarama. But... the girls did not like the chorus so they persuaded Stock and Aitken to cowrite it with them and the song finally came to be 'I Want You Back'. One year ago, on the PWL site was aired an snippet of the original song.
Here is my pathetic attempt to recreate the original song using the version of 'I Want You Back' included on the european edition of the Album 'Wow!'
In my opinion, the song was great as it was. What do you think?
this is actually amazing!

Wow, never knew this! Amazing. I Can´t Help it were my favorite over I Want You Back, I liked them both. Actually prefer the Reason For Living-take! Grrrrrrrrrrreat.

this is very interesting. this and your other demos show Bananarama used verses and chorus interchangable between backing tracks. With so many different attempts to get a song together, they mustn't know whether they were coming or going. I can see now why Pete says Bananarama was a nightmare to work with. Mike and Matt must have been pulling their hair out. It would have been better just let them write the songs.

It sounds like a brand new song what with the different Chorus, I think it's great! Thanks for sharing :)

Excellent! I thought I'd never hear that snippet again since PWL pulled it from their site.
