Jack the Nipper 3: In the Treasure Hunt Adventure PC game video, by Spellcraft Entertainment Studio.
This is a PC game made by me, Paulo Teixeira, in 2003-2005, graphically restructured in 2010. It was done in TURBO PASCAL 7.0 with Assembly routines to improve it's performance and general quality.
Jack the Nipper 3: In the Treasure Hunt Adventure was done as a tribute to an old ZX Spectrum game named JACK THE NIPPER 2: In Coconut Capers, by Greg Holmes and published by Gremlin Graphics, 1987. I know it's not exacty perfect but I sure tried my best to entertain myself and friends with it. It was not easy to keep the original game features and "feeling", but I think I did it! :)
Jack the Nipper 3 was never officially released, of course! It's just a non-commercial game to play and enjoy!
GAME SPECS:
----------------------------------
GRAPHICS: done by several authors, composed and reworked by me in Corel Photopaint 12.
SOUNDS: done by several authors.
PROGRAMMING: done by me - over 10.500 lines of pure code.
TOTAL SCREENS: Over 300.
GENRE: Adventure / Platform
AIM OF GAME: Try to be as naughty as possible. Jack will need to use several objects to overcome puzzles and talk to a wide range of characters to advance in the adventure.
GAME FEATURES: » Over 20 different enemies (some of them from JTN2 and others new ones, like the wizards and their spells | lives to get | weapons to use (pistol, slingshot and rocks) | power-ups to find (diapers, pacifier, baby bottle and speed shoes) | fruits to recover health (lemons, grapes, strawberries, bananas, carrots and more!)
BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT: fire sources | staying underwater for too long | wild bees | water bugs | high falls | wizards' spells | hard seeds shot by monkeys in trees
TRY TO FIND: All 30 scattered pieces of a sacred medallion which will be used as a key to open the secret chamber where the Treasure lies in.
BUGS: There are 2 known bugs that I couldn't remove, one for the lack of time and the other because I could NEVER determine the cause. The last one is fatal - the game crashes (very rare).
KNOWN ISSUES: The sound routine allows one sound channel only at the same time, which means that sometimes sounds are interrupted by others. I tried to "avoid" this the best I could, just like trying to avoid the ZX Spectrum's color-clashes. ;) Sorry.
FINAL WORDS: Someday I'll try to finish it. I think that about 5% of the game is to be finished. I'll have to install the Windows 98 in an old computer I have and do the programming tasks once again, since DOSBOX 0.73 crashes a lot with TURBO PASCAL 7.0 while debugging and tracing procedures.
Great job man!Thanx for the reanimation!

I would pay for a copy of the source code. Will this compile in Turbo Pascal 7.0 for windows or the DOS version. This is cooler than cool.

Hello,
Thanks for your interest in Jack the Nipper 3. ;)
It was done with all my knowledge, but it's not perfect.
Anyway, it's very funny. Good gameplay, good sounds, good graphics, good ambience.
It can be compiled in TP 7, yes. But you must run it under DOS-BOX now. ;)
With some tricks, of course.
Cheers!
