"Honey Got Some Love" by Rene Lopez - BTR Hear & There [Ep26]

Bronx native Rene Lopez and his band perform his Latin soul track "Honey Got Some Love" live at Mirror Image Salon in Harlem, New York.

Rene Lopez has been recording and performing music since the late 1980s with a variety of acts and musicans, including the band Wasabi and ex-Blind Melon guitarist Rogers Stevens. His blend of funk, Latin soul, rock and R&B has won him national attention, and he is currently set to release his second solo album this summer, "ELS" (Nat Geo Music). We caught up with the New Yorker (son of Puerto Rican salsa musician Rene Lopez, Sr.) at a hair salon in Harlem, where Lopez and his band entertained customers and staff members alike with their dance-worthy track, "Honey Got Some Love." Also featured in the video: Brett Bass (bass), Bill Dobrow (drums), Chris Eminizer (sax), David Hurwitz (guitar), Mauro Refosco (congas) and Bryn Roberts (keys).
