3 side by side tests of video captured with the Colossus PVR. I needed busy footage to stress the compressor so I used game footage, at 720p 30fps.

Use the number keys on your keyboard to jump/loop certain areas of the clip. Also, 720p viewing is a must.

I'd recommend not maxing out the bitrates but keeping around where the middle clip is, ie 16 as average and 25% more for peak.
There's noticeable difference between 12 and 16 but not between 16 and 20 average Mbit rates.

The hardware is doing an extremely good job though so you may stick to 12 average (left) and upload it directly to YT, However, if you want to re-compress your material to WMV or do advanced post processing and special effects, use a higher bitrate.

Details: Playstation 3 connected with component cables to the PVR, game running is "Dark Souls". Video edited and compressed in Premiere Elements 9, at WMV highest bitrate allowed (10Mbit).
