Your daily politics video blog: Next up in our ongoing series of TPM talks with economists, David Kurtz talks with Adam Posen, deputy director of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He gives us his take on the stimulus, the "bad bank" scenario, and our prospects for recovery. Like other economists we've talked with, Posen is not overly optimistic. "I wish I had a better analogy... There's a certain element of self fulfilling prophecy to this. You've got a leaky boat, you can either get out of the boat or you can fix the boat, but simply bailing water isn't going to keep the boat afloat. And I'm worried this is bailing water."

The whole idea of a series on a subject matter is to give DIFFERENT points of view. You are only talking to Keynesian economist. Whom if you ever bothered to look the term up, are the problem in the first place.

Well how do you save no assets ? ..Basically the FEB backed The short-term securities that the banks used to help refund and keep their SIV's that were issued, afloat.

How do you save "borrowed money"? When private short-term securities dried up, the FED overnight Fund keep there Long term paper alive. Then there was a run on money market accounts until FDIC stepped in to back stop and prevent busting the" Buck".

Now, the unemployed are pulling down their CD's & MM's to live on, what now ?
