Before Rick Springfield joined "General Hospital" and wished that he had "Jesse's Girl," he was a young rock singer in the mold of David Cassidy of "Partridge Family" fame. He lent his voice and caricature to a Saturday morning cartoon in the 1970s named "Mission Magic," which revolved around a young witch named Miss Tickle. (Notice that even though the show was about a witch, Rick got top billing. Unfair? You make the call.)

  • @zabadazidit they made him look like a cross between a rock star, and a super hero

  • Dam! Filmation had money back then, Real Talk!

  • If you are a Rick Springfield fan, you should get his book "Late, late at night". It is a really good read. Especially because it seems like he wrote it without a ghost writer. It feels like a buddy writing to you about his life. You can hear his voice the entire time. I never made the connection between this cartoon and Rick until I read the book. This clip sure brings back memories of a time when the phrase "Saturday Morning cartoons" meant something.

  • @zabadazidit i agree 100%

  • WOW! I remember this cartoon! I loved it!! Thanks for posting this!!!

  • This was my favorite cartoon.... Kids TV was o trippy in the 70's....the best part, is I tell my friends ' I remember when Rick Springfield was Austrailian" . (They don't believe me)

  • I liked this show as a kid, but as I recall, it seems that Rick wasn't in every episode, or was in only briefly.

  • And this theme began life as a Song Rick Wrote called Walking The Floor On My Hands, which was recored by Fellow Australian Pop Star ohnny Farnham.

  • Order the DVD set for this series just this week.

  • @revbear777 me too.
