Day laborer is not a racial term. It is a term that describes people of any race that wait around to get picked up for a job - one day at a time. There was nothing racist in what I said. YOU are the ignorant fuck.

@Taranau There already was a store like that in that building: Kmart. THEY SHUT DOWN BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T MAKING ANY MONEY. We're not getting another one.
-
Oh, and by the way, nobody shops at your stupid overpriced local family-owned stores. We're the ones complaining that we have to drive to Glendale or Burbank because Do It Wrong Center has crappy service and Merithew's charges a million dollars for a f'ing screw.
-
Enjoy your empty building, morons.
If Kmart had to close, what makes you think that Target or Walmart will magically want to move in all of a sudden?
Sure. There's a Home Depot in San Fernando. Guess what? They're putting a Walmart in Burbank, where the Great Indoors store was. Almost the same distance.
Yay, just what we need... another abandoned building on Foothill. Nice job, rednecks.

@ClareHolzer You are absolutely right. In fact I remember in 1996 In south dakota there was a place called "Day Labor" that provided job placement for Day Laborers. Saw all kinds of people there, white, black and lokota indian when I went to look for some temporary work. I have never heard "Day Laborer" used in the derogatory. Maybe the person accusing you has their own, racist, preconceptions of "Day Laborer"

The main problem with Tujunga is that the city of la overlooks the area. For the past few years the mayor has been obsessed with fixing up dowtown la in hopes of bringing commerce to la which is good but to neglect other parts that is not fair. Although Tujunga and Sunland are filled with homeless and drunks the majority of residents obviously have homes. It seems that the concessional feeling is to open a Target so why isn't the community working together to open one?

They should have left the drive in up. Half of Sunland Tujunga was conceived there. Last time I lived there Zwern's Surplus Store the Honda Shop and the trampoline pits were there. Whaaa??? You don't remember where the trampolines were? Under Jack in the Box near Sunland Park. Wixon's Hobby Shop on Commerce was my hangout. I lived on Day St. near Haines Canyon.

This Kmart closed by Court order along with 23 other Kmarts. It had NOTHING to do with whether it was individually successful or not. Sorry to shot down your hate filled attack. Speaking of morons and rednecks...
