you sound like an idiot. it's obvious you know nothing about psychotropic substances, if you did, you wouldn't sound like a ignorant clown. I don't have any thing against people who choose not to indulge in any psychoactive use, but I don't like dickheads who call others down over subjects they know nothing about(aka; you). Getting high very definitely does enhance your perception of music in a special way particular to yourself as an individual and the entheogen you are using. Do some research

oh better yet, seek out Thrill Jockeys 10th anniversary DVD Looking For A Thrill: An Anthology Of Inspiration. artists & musicians are asked the same question: What was the musical moment that inspired them to pursue what they do? John Herdon of Tortoise's answer was coming down off an acid trip listening to Charles Mingus. so there sober people, Tortoise does/did drugs, whatever, but ultimately it doesn't matter, sober or high, Tortoise is intense, i love 'em.

being sober has it's rewards too, but i'd like to point out that John Mcentires recording studio in Chicago is called Soma, do a wiki search on the word Soma and tell me the band hasn't done some drugs here and there, but dopey drug users who think their cooler because of it are lame.

I agree all the way, I hate losers who degrade the music with drugs. They just want attention, and for others to be jealous, like they got some special private show all because they were high and we were all sober. All of them are so full of shit, they couldn't even recall the names of the songs performed at the concert.

Being high enhances the experience. Of course you don't HAVE to be high to enjoy it. But if you smoke pot all the time then whenever you listen to music you're stoned anyway. Which is like baseline for you straightedgers.
