A timelapse of the design of the cover of Business Model Generation. I took all the drawings and diagrams from inside the book and turned it "inside-out" to give a feeling of the density of ideas in the book. Given that we're printing on board and only get one colour, we needed something that would fit that look and communicate the excitement without colour. While I was more excited about the feel of the cover earlier on in the design, it was clear that it the message was improved upon by making it less dense to where you could easily read some of the images and pull out the people from them. This enforced both the "Generation", in terms of work being done / generating ideas, as well as generation of people who are doing this. Enough said!
Al, it's great to see your process. Congrats on all this work.
