Now, I love a good FMV game (which usually means the FMV itself is good as well). If nothing else, I always cringe when some game has two polygon piles "kiss". In this series I will share some of my favourite FMV moments. Enjoy!

First up is the magnificent ending scene from Tex Murphy: Overseer. That's Michael York, people.

There should be a couple of short gameplay segments in between the clips, but I had to remove that since for some reason they caused the video to seriously desync.

  • I had no idea Michael York did games...

  • Now you know, and knowing is half the nerdiness.

  • This probably sounds a little silly, but whats an FMV?

  • Full Motion Video, which in games refers to actual people in front of a camera.

  • Loved the Murphy Games.. I really miss games like this.

  • I gotta admit, alot of the old FMVS were more poetic than the early CG cutscenes we had.

  • His scene where Gideon explains his history is also kind of tragic. You really feel for this guy. Hell, you almost want him to win. Not because you agree with his methods, but because you know it isn't right for someone like him to lose so often and so horribly.

    Michael York is the man.

  • ah okay, i actually have a game like that

  • I enjoy FMV games too. This one's pretty cool.
