999 DAYS : Russell Higgs URBAN BARBARIAN

A culture's power structure depends largely on how we look and how we are looked at. Citizen Higgs clocks in, day after day after day.

For nearly 3 years I created a Fresh Self Portrait Every Single Day. It is fundamentally a project about Being and Time. The featured 999 days are from 3 Sept 2006 to 29 May 2009.

... I notice that sodding NAZI SWASTIKA video, which has dogged my most popular YouTube video for an entire year, is now more prominent than ever. Now it pops up at the end as the "next featured video" despite it not appearing in the right hand column anymore ...

@RussellHiGGS ... last year I asked the Guggenheim if they'd have a word with Google and get the swastika video removed. It used to be prominently positioned in the right hand column. And it WAS promptly removed. But now, despite the swastika continuing to be absent from the right hand column, I discover it is newly positioned extremely prominently on screen right after my video has finished.

@chris96kalonji ....... for me the pace of it is reminiscent of the re-cap at the start of episode 22, series 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also the regenerative powers of the Doctor (Who) sometimes come to mind. But I'd say in many ways the beating heart of this project is something more akin to Robert Barry's "All the Things I Know but of Which I am Not at the Moment Thinking: 1:36 pm; June 15, 1969".
