This is my dog Adenine, a German Shorthaired Pointer, limping on command. He is able to limp either at my side or from a distance although we are still working on lengthening the distance. I used a method from Zak George, explained here: youtu.be/uraY7pmUSlw. Adenine is about 11 months old in this video.

  • love it, this is by far my fav trick ever... its what im working on right now with my dog.

  • @LilosCrazyLife It was a very hard trick to train, but it was definitely worth it. Just keep at it and your dog will get it eventually!

  • I have been working on this with Lilly but she is not really picking up on it very well. Plus, we are trying to also get her comfotable with her front paws being held and touched too so it has been a big hurdle weare trying to jump. Ill post a video response if I ever get her to do it tho :)

  • @ashleighmlapeer This one took me forever to teach. For the entire first week I did nothing but hold his leg up and coax him into taking a step. Then for the next week, I would occasionally let his leg hit the ground and withheld the reward. Slowly he started to understand that he had to hold his leg up on his own. But it just took a ton of patience.

  • Good trick! Are sensitive paws breed related? My GSP pulls away her paws as soon as her paw pads are touched when she gives a paw.

  • I think thats stupid

  • That is so cool. Looks like my gsp.

  • Smart dog!

  • Adenine is a very beautiful GSP. I remember my own dog Sirius at this age, always fooling around and trying to push his limits. My dog has just became 2 years now and he is trained for hunting. Well, he is still learning but doing very well at this point.

The kindness of the GSP is realy melting my heart all the time. Enjoy your beautiful young dog and keep on having fun with her. Greetings, Guy

  • awesome!

  • @soonerfan237 yea I have been working on it for about a month now. She just isnt wanting to hold it up on her own. She insists on using my hand a her crutch and bears all her weight on me. I am going to try a higher value treat and see what that gets me. I know she will eventually get it but I want to move on to different things since this has been taking up all of my time. I will probably move on and try again at a later time with a fresh approach.

  • Great job! If you're looking for great trick training tutorials, check out kikopup and zsianz1's channels. They have wonderful trick training videos.
