I was told that rising air 1 ft in diameter 100 ft high equals 1000 hp. Anybody else ever hear such a thing?

@joelito's idea, i would only add: instead of mirrors maybe some parabolic concentrator or fresnell or both, so you can run on wind and solar wheter it alternates or cooperates according to wheater conditions.

correocasa3, We are working on a Solar Concentrator that will be cost effective and will revolutionize the Solar world. The real answer are Wind Solar Geothermal and Hydro/Wave, The SpiralHydrofoil is looking very promising, will be able to be placed into a stream or flow of water/rip tides eleminating the need for the EPA to get involved. I am sorry but I do not know "joelito's idea" We have many things in our medicine bag for the clean and SAFE future. Thank you

Paint the container black and point some mirrors to it. it will create a continious updraft as long as there is some sunlight.

Hi joelito, Yes the tower is to be painted black, using the Bernoulli effect it will not just be a solar updraft but will be able to take advantage of wind also. Note, that the speed of the Turbine was 425 rpm in an eight mile an hour wind (even if the video shows it going slow it's really wizzing) Most updraft turbines are wimpy in design and very inefficient. This updraft turbine is very efficient, the tolerances are tighter then they appear in the Video. Stack 40 ft.

Hi joelito, Thanks for the compliment, people are basically good, stupidnamenonecares has a lot of pasion, I wish more folk did, together we will get there, the biggest thing is to remain constructive and positive, mis- takes can be erased or altered to ge at the truth.
