This spot for Amnesty International Austria was a student work done in 2003 at the Fachhochschule Vorarlberg.

Software ... Well, the background is just watercolour (real watercolour with real water). The hand is my hand, pictures taken in a stop motion style. The burnt holes are real burnt holes with an actual cigarette (burnt from the back, the paper was stretched). So it's all photographed. Some cleaning up in Photoshop, then put together in After Effects.
The hand drawn character animation was then just added to After Effects (cut out using a complex Photoshop action).
It was some nice experimenting.
