  • Can I store the porridge, and if so how many days?

  • No because it contains milk and goes off fast.

  • people are asking why go to so much effort allowing time over night. Well, a good porridge is Seriously nice, it doesn't even compare to what you can do in 6 mins. I think my mums recipe was just Rolled Oats (ive not seen these raw oats in Australia) and Milk, then once its cooked we have Golden Syrup on it, great especially for cold mornings :D

  • I am trying to find a recipe for making Porridge like my mum makes, so far not found lol, will have to ask her. BUT id bet this would be really nice and i think i will give it a try. Thanks for the video :D

  • @ladykatica

Because it tastes better and is planned for the next day.

  • @ladykatica I was thinking that myself. Mine is done in about 6 minutes!

  • Great choice of porridge oats (being Scottish myself) but I think it's best made simply - water and a touch of salt.

  • this its the BEST porrdige recipe all over youtube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • for everyone complaining about the 10 hours thing, just a little tip: cover your porridge with milk and leave it in the fridge OVERNIGHT. wow, huh? so much work!

and btw, it really makes a difference to soak the oats before you cook them...

    just saying!

  • Why on earth would anyone go to such lengths to sit porridge for 10 hours! Its just porridge!

  • Fantastic job Jemeela! Thanks for posting a video on soaking the oats before cooking them! This very important step of the process is all too often forgotten! I soak mine in Whey, yogurt, kefir or lemon juice. The reason is that it breaks down the phytic acid in the bran of the oat seed (for those who don't know). Thanks for posting Jemeela!
