A truly independent television station, not the homogenised rubbish you see in England, Wales and sadly the south of Scotland these days where local television means nothing.

Over the years STV made some excellent programmes for the ITV network including Take The High Road, Taggart, Now You See It, Fun House & Wheel Of Fortune.

STV is the last true giant within the ITV network that has been able to practice some level of independence and retain its own programming and identity away from the chaotic mess that ITV has become.
