Lissi And The Wild Emperor - Trailer *English Subtitles*

One of the German-speaking world's most beloved stories - that of the fairy tale-like marriage between Bavaria's teenage Princess Elizabeth and Austria's Emperor Franz Joseph - is given an amusing twist in this animation by spoof director Michael Herbig. It was a huge box office success, knocking "Ratatouille" out of the top spot.

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Bavaria lived beautiful princess 'Lissi' who enjoyed a luxurious, outrageous lifestyle with her handsome husband Franz and his eccentric parents: crazed, wheelchair bound father and dominant mother. They threw wild parties, practiced target shooting using priceless objects of art as targets. Everyone was happy until one dark night the princess was taken away by a horrible beast. The beast turned out to be The Abominable Snowman and he had his reasons to kidnap beautiful Lissi.

The animation is on par with (if not better than) 'shrek'. This is a fairy tale Disney can only wish to make, a true 'one for the family'. The jokes are thick and fast, and for the most part, refrain from being crude.
