The opening theme from Mad Monster Party, the animated movie that was released in 1969 by Rankin/Bass Productions, Inc., the same guys who created all the famous stop-motion Christmas specials.

Mad Magazine creator Harvey Kurtzman penned the script, and Mad artist Jack Davis designed many of the characters.
The opening theme was sung by the talented Ethel Ennis.

All the famous Universal Monsters make appearances, from Frankenstein and Dracula, to the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Invisible Man.

Trivia: King Kong also appears in the movie, but was only called "It" due to copyright issues.

  • Am I the only one who think this song's suitable for a James Bond theme song?

  • Don't you love the scratched negative "Lightning" at 1:23? film making doesn't need CGI to be fun!

  • I remember seeing this a few times as a child, I think on VHS and always wondering "what was the name of that stop motion movie with all the classic movie monsters in it?". And now, I've finally found it.

    Let's relive, shall we? :)
