  • oops, I didn't realize you posted months ago!

    It CAN be done without taking it out, but it is pretty hard to do. Be carefull of the transmission fluid if you pull it out.

  • My U joint vid blows this one away. And like a needle nose pliers is going to get the cap off.

  • I would never beat on a shaft with a hammer, I would recommend renting a ball joint removal kit from your local auto parts store and just pressing them out.
