Jack and The Beanstalk Rotoscope Animation

This was a University project for a Motion Graphics module. The brief was to select a fairy tale and give it a contempory twist. We had to implement problems faced today and intrinsically link them with the old fairy tale in order to engage with a modern audience. I chose the problems of apathy in the youth, social rage and gang culture. In order to make it relevant to a younger audience, I tried to give the video a grungy and urban feel to it.

I found the making of this video was challenging and helped me develop certain skills in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. It was also my first encounter with a Wacom tablet and subsequently twisted my arm into buying one :) All in all I found this module very enjoyable.

The song is 'Voices' by Blaq Poet.
