TheSuperHerper: Baby Snapping Turtle

We caught this lovely little snapper in a creek where we thought there was no turtles. We were wrong and we caught this baby common snapping turtle, a fascinating species. He was a little vicous and full of energy. Derek claims he saw a yellow bellied watersnake here as well but it was too fast.

that is an alligator snapping turtle. look up online physical characteristics about them and you can tell. fuckin lucky to catch such a rare turtle and dont even know what the fuck kind it is. definatly NOT a common

really? thats definitely an alligator snapper? Same shell, face and tail? sorry homie, you must have a common snapper, cuz thats a COMMON. How hard is it to tell between the two? They look completely different! The alligator has a big ass head and only opens its mouth to clamp down on your fingers. The common snappers are the ones with the long necks. I used to have 1 of each.

cool video , if you all ever come across bigger snappers be careful they can take a chunk out of you or worse.Its good that you put the turtle back were you cought it , they belong in the wild if thats what there used to.
