  • Hi I had a desmoid removed from my left ab. muscle 3 years ago, and Ive never felt the same. I have a poly-prop mesh to replace the ab. but now its herniating and I look 1/2 pregnant.

I somestimes feel a bit of paid and wonder if it came back but my MRIs show nothing and they think it's just scar tissue. I didnt know that celebrex and colchicine worked to reduce desmoid never heard of it

  • I still have alot of pain in my leg. I always wonder if it is another tumor growing, but I have to keep positive. No, it is not! I realize I went through some pretty crazy surgeries and my body may take years to recover.

  • Hi, my name is Nicole, living in Taipei Taiwan. I have a desmoid tumor in my left shoulder girdle, and i decided to take medicine, instead of remove it. I'm taking Celebrex and Colchicine. It's been 7 yrs, from discover of tumor, the tumor has been reduced 20%.

  • That is wonderful to hear that it has decreased in size! I should have looked into taking the medicine route because it seems like the first surgery just aggravated it, causing it to spread...

  • I just had a desmoid tumor removed from my leg (for the third time). I also got edema in my leg after the surgery.

  • is it in your lower leg as well? I rarely hear people with desmoids in their leg. I hope the surgery went well and that your edema has gone down. Edema sucks. It is so painful. But, I like to poke it and make shapes...

  • I have a desmoid tumor in my leg and i have not and will not get surgery results show that alot of people with this type of cancer their tumor comes back worse

  • I had one desmoid on the back of my neck (removed 10 years ago, its still gone) that, now that I feel it, does feel a little too squishy. Could just be my imagination though, but it feels odd. I also have a sizable desmoid in my intestines. They can't cut it out because it has infiltrated my intestines which makes it incredibly hard to remove, and even harder (if not impossible) to get it all - so itd grow back. Now I'm on my 10th month of chemo, and its shrinking! :D

  • hello my name is jim and i live in ca. i had a desmoid tumor in my upper right arm wrapping itself around my trisep , it was removed abuit 10 years ago, they had to cut most of my tricep and part of my deltoid out with it also , nice zipper on my arm about 12 inches long and left a huge crater , i also underwent radiation therapy.i am blessed i still have my arm . i need to thank Dr.Richard Odonell from UCSF he saved my arm and maybee my life ,he made it possible for me to continue life .thanks

  • Hi my name is oska and i had a desmoid tumor for 3 times , i removed it 3 times (in my back) and this whole year i had chimotherapy treatments , does annibody here had chimo like me ??

  • Hi,

I has a desmoid tumor in my left calf it was 30cm long i went through everything surgery but it grew back and alot of other treatments nothing worked i had to have my leg amputed 5 weeks ago i am 23 years old, its very rare and sometimes you feel very alone like your the only one.

  • @desmoidgirl it was in my right thigh and has come back three times--each time moving down the thigh. The last tumor was removed on the side of my leg next to my knee.

  • I've had a desmoid tumor in my upper right arm removed 4 times now.. The scar is now 10" long or so.. I have lost almost all of my tricep and this last surgery they cannot remove it all.

I start radiation in a week, it's been quite a struggle over the last 2 years. I'm hoping that radiation takes care of it or I may lose my arm..

  • How's the leg now?

  • Does it hurt?
