This hilarious Arena Special followed Mel Brooks at the height of his film directing career in 1981.

The programme was shown on the BBC in 1981 just before the release of the film 'History of the World, Part One'.

The copyright is BBC 1981. Uploaded because unavailable on BBC iPlayer or DVD.

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm a HUGE Mel (Brooks) fan. "The Producers" was made for very little money, but it has become a classic. Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, Kenneth Mars, Dick Shawn, etc. were all excellent. Upon seeing it Peters Sellers took out full page ads in Variety and another trade journal praising the film.
