My mother told me my father, who died suddenly when I was young, loved this song. Thanks for posting this because it is a connection to him.

I met an elderly woman 2 years ago who in conversation told me about a song that was written for her. She sang it so sweetly in the sweetest little voice. One day when I was thinking about her, I looked up the lyrics and found this youtube video. She taught dance for many years in NYC. Lovely and beautiful woman, even to this day. :)

One of the first 78 RPM's I can remember playing as a pre-K'er. Still trying to locate Are You Satisfied/ Humdinger by Sheb Woolley, (Had it on an M-G-M 78.)

My daddy always sang the refrain to me since I was a toddler. Before he died, he even tried to sing it to me. This song is so special and the entire song is so true to my life. I love my husband and I miss my daddy!

I was in a casino in Lake Tahoe in the mid 60's and a group was singing this song. Their lyrics were different. they went, all day all night Marianne, who the hell you think I am Superman. My name is Marianne and everyone I was with cracked up. Actually, so did I.

I first heard this song on an old cassette I bought at a yard sale about 8 years ago. I loved its easy melody and apperant obscurity. One day that old cassette fried in my car underneath an intense summer sunshine.
I have spent months trying to locate this song.
I, too, used to sing it to an old girlfriends middle daughter named marianne. Funny, I miss her daughters more than I miss her.
What great memories. Thanks for posting this song!!!!
