Livros ilustrados infantis

Vídeo para crítica correspondente no blog lerbd. This is a video for a review at the Portuguese language comics and illustration blog lerbd. This time around I review a batch of more or less new books (whether internationally or new translations): "Lágrimas de crocodilo" André François (Bruaá); "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly", by Jeremy Holmes (Chronicle); "Love", by Lowell A. Siff and [Gian Berto] Vanni (Canongate Books); "Lendas e Toadas do Nosso Povo Singelo" by Ana Saldanha and Daniel Silvestre da Silva (Caminho); "Sr. Pancas e os mal-entendidos no Zoo", by Kevin Waldron (Horizonte); "O Cuquedo", by Clara Cunha e Paulo Galindro (Horizonte); "O coração e a garrafa", by Oliver Jeffers (Orfeu Mini); "Gastão, vida de cão", by Rita Taborda Duarte and Luís Henriques (Caminho); "Migrando", by Mariana Chiesa Mateos (Orfeu Mini); "A Manta", by Isabel Minhós Martins and Yara Kono (Planeta Tangerina); and "25 poemas ilustrados", by Miguel Hernández et al. (Kalandraka). The songs are by the most amazing songwriter for children (a hardcore Marxist philosopher teacher, no less!) in the whole world, the Portuguese José Barata Moura; the melodies are simple and catchy, and the lyrics are as zany as it gets: the songs are all from one his albums and they're titled "Paponça Papinha", "O Pavão Crispim Barnabé Boião, Inventor de Engenhocas", "A Ovelha Papuça" and "O Gato Tigre".
