I always hear people talking about allowing free market capitalism . Well, that's fine as long as it's not free to rip you off with out you even knowing it . These naive people think of free markets in terms of some romantic notion of bartering with your local neighbor or good old fashion people, ha.. ? Complete b.s. ! Wall Street is cut throat neo-capitalist . Most, not all would throw your grandmother under a bus to make a dollar (I'm not joking) . Take for example derivatives . Most people don't even know what that is . Basically it's betting with your money . Would you take your life savings and head to casinos with no safety net ? Also, the brilliant economist Paul Krugman explains the difference between innovative and predatory capitalism . Both Krugman and Maddow talk about finance reform the fraud case against Goldman Sachs and weather there's any substance to Republican opposition to reform .

@scw3967 Yeah sure, tell that to the countries that are not part of the "developed world" that you love. And also, just on strictly economics, there were 3 recessions during the so-called "golden-age".

@isedairi When properly regulated, capitalism works pretty well. Go move to North Korea.

Why can't Krugman understand that the problem is not wall street or finance, but capitalism itself!!

Amazing. He says right to her face that the reform bill OBAMA signed was full of BS. The banks want to nationalize. This democratic advocate actually says everything conservatives have warned. And yet the O-administration want to continue the bailouts AND allow the CEOs their bonuses. Rachel Madcow just continues the interview as if she didnt listen to a darn thing. Simply amazing. Oh, how are those death panels now? The dems in their 60's are gonners now.

In many interviews including this one, Krugman shows the tell-tale signs of a drug-abuser. I mention this because I dislike Paul Krugman very much, but I'm sick of his defenders pointing-out that he won a Nobel Prize, whenever I criticize his economics. ...as if a Nobel Prize makes a person legit.
So this is my criticism now. I believe he's on drugs. :|
