@stickinginthepin Because of all of this comparison I was forced to check out T. Rex...pretty good band. The most similar song to this one I could find was "Get it On ( Bang a Gong )". I dont think the Smith Westerns are ripoffs. They're just doin what they love and sometimes their influences come out a little too much. Their new album Dye It Blonde is amazing btw. They've progressed a ton.
