I saw this and started to cry (which is a huge deal for me). A father is talking about how his son was murdered for being gay (it was pretty much the equivalent to Matthew Shepard's murder) and how he was far from being embarrassed that his son was gay, but he was ashamed that the United States didn't feel that his son deserved the right to be a parent, serve openly in the military, or marry. It is so sad that it is still true today despite the fact that this season of "West Wing" was from 2000. A decade later, we still don't have anything close to equal rights. :'(
