Elizabeth Edwards told her daughter in a "dying letter" that she should not "marry the first boy you date." Apparently Elizabeth knows little to nothing about choosing a husband.  Hope Cate goes with her own instincts and not her mother's. Her mother obviously chose the wrong person. To me, John Edwards sounds like nothing but a self-centered egomaniac. Perhaps he wasn't always like this, but alas, that's how he ended up.
