A few photos of Case Study 22 "The Stahl House". Most were taken on the MAK and CA Boom tours of 2006. Also included are photos of the original[and still] owner Mrs. Carlotta Stahl, and restoration work currently in progress.

This is an example of a 1960 house. An example of what direction America was heading.. before.. before we were shoved backwards & steered into the trashy, sleezy 'postmodern' & decadent capitalist junkpile we have today. Think: 'McMansion' - dripping with useless, rotting 'trim'.. ah.. gag me with crown moulding..!!

...case study houses were originaly intended for the return of GIs from WW2 because there was a severe shortage of homes in LA. The result was that all the the top designers and architects came up with such beautiful designs they became unaffordable for the average GI and became beautiful design classics!!

There would be a copyright issue. The Getty museum in Los Angeles owns the blueprints from Pierre Konig. But there are a quite a number of homes in California that are similar in style.
