R.I.P Ripper.... He's duking it out with Boogard up in Heaven....

@dezprince noway, I seen Rypien get his ass kicked over half his short career in fights. That ain't pound for pound. Hal Gill is not considered anywhere near the top so it means crap. PJ Stock beat Gill also but worse and Stock would wipe Rypiens face all over the ice if he was still playing.
-
@groundsmanbri I'm sorry, but you're wrong Rypien was the best pound for pound fighter in the NHL. Look for his tilt with Hal gill.

lol the guy had his helmet on. i would want someone to punch my noggin if i had a helmet on lol fuck whoever thinks this was dirty. i too believe you shouldn't hit someone when they're down but they were down for one second and ricky only hit him three times just grazing his HELMET wit his knuckles. ice bag for rick, big smile for the other guy..

@Coghiller It don't matter how much a person pisses you off as a fighter with words, in this game he never received a dirty shot or any of his teammates to warrant this. It is a perfect example of what an undisciplined fighter is. Granted, as i'm told and seen...he is a very nice guy off the ice.Probert and many other NHL great enforcers were overwhelmingly against hitting a man when their down. It's an unwritten rule in the NHL not just amongst Enforcers but with all players. It's dirty,Period.

@Coghiller You've got to be kidding me right? He was just a fighter, he was one of the least scoring enforcers in the NHL, he lacked in many areas of his game. And he was never the best pound for pound fighter in the game, not even close. He was tough, no doubt, but he had a lot of issues. He had very little playing time also because his lack in areas. He's lost more then he's won in fights. Most fight bloggers do not even list him as one of or near a top fighter.

@groundsmanbri The guy obviously pissed the hell outta Ripper for him to do that. Hes the best pound-for-pound fighter in the NHL,and he has skills....know who your talking about.

Only a coward hits a man when hes down, its an unwritten rule in the NHL. He's not that great of a fighter, and hes not that good of a player. John Sim is better and John Sim is terrible. Rick Rypien is now in the hospital for suicidal mental issues for the second time in two years. It has not even affected the Canucks with him gone, in fact they seem to have a better team now and more chemistry.
Fucking kicked his ass.
Still kicking ass in the NHL with the Nucks.
