After digging through the internet for months and months, talking to Logitech directly, seeing complicated fixes and doing trouble shooting that didn't work. It was a simple YouTube comment by http://www.youtube.com/user/sambedard that fixed the problem.

Straight upload from my camera to YouTube so sorry for the poor quality.

  • Mine fell in a cup of water.. currently disassembled and drying... fingers crossed

  • @bpoogas Put it in a cup or bag of dry rice after disconnecting the battery. This will absorb all the water and is commonly used to save cellphones and laptops that have gotten wet. You'll need to let it sit overnight though with out any power. Afterwards the chance of it working are much higher.

  • I accomplished the same thing without taking anything apart - just turn the power switch to off on the bottom and leave the unit on the charger overnight

  • @mikebcnu2 That worked for me for a while. Than it didn't really do it anymore.

  • Wow - I just followed the instructions and it works! Thanks.

It doesn't make logical sense,as the internal battery itself is connected to wires and there are no contact points to clean up, but my mouse is charging correctly for the first time since I got it - a refurbished model, the battery issue of which was probably the reason it was returned by the original owner.

Maybe a similar outcome to 'banging' it, but this won't damage it and will hopefully resove the problem permanently.

  • @jd2buy Sadly, it is not a permanent fix. I have to do this from time to time on both of my MX Revolutions. However, it so simple and easy to do that it doesn't bother me.

Many a time I have bashed my mouse out of frustration but I wouldn't recommend doing this. Bashing out of frustration can break inner workings as bashing out of dire need can do the same. Just take a few moments and do it the right way and you don't run the risk of breaking $75+ machinery.

  • Hmm, I guess the on/off sw doesn't remove power from the entire mouse. Seems to me like Logitech knew this and hoped that nobody would figure out how to hard reset it.

  • Works for me, Thanks!!

  • IT TOTALLY WORKED!!Ty m8!!

  • No such problem with mine and i have it for over 2 years

  • Forget about removing the pads, they work best when they've never been removed, just look for an image of the screwholes on the bottom and drive your screwdriver into it. twist it a little, and you'll get through the pad material and into the screw.

  • Shook my head all the way through this video...theres no way this will work (and I am a electronics technician), BUT IT DID ACTUALLY WORK!! Can't believe it but I believe that it resetting the MoBO in the mouse. Also my mouse was a different version with the metal clips holding it in and the battery is wired to the board and disconnects via a 3 prong plug but this just required one more step. Remove the metal clip, unscrew the battery holder and unplug the battery. WORKS GREAT, THANKS A TON!

  • Just tried this and it worked. Would've continued having a dead mouse if you hadn't posted this video. Thanks a lot!
