The Orono Board of Education will meet tonight at 7 p.m.

While most of the items on the agenda are part of the consent agenda, where everything is approved at once without discussion, there are a couple of items that jump out.

First, the board is expected to approve a donation of $25,000 from the Orono Baseball and Orono Youth Baseball Associations to go toward repairs and upgrades for the JV baseball field.

Next, the board will also consider a donation of $1,340 for Orono Middle School from the Target Take Charge of Education program.

During the meeting the board will also receive an update from Paul Hamilton and Aaron Ruhland on the progress of the district's Alternative Teacher Professional Pay System.

The duo gave this same presentation to the state department team assigned to review the district's program. Proposed enhancements will be discussed and the board will be presented with the results of the teacher's vote on program continuation.
