It's time for cable and satellite subscribers to pay only for the channels they want, rather than the dozens that they don't, consumer columnist David Lazarus says. Read more at http://bit.ly/aI1Oka

  • Cable companies have found a way around the PSC licensing mandate that they provide a package affordable for the poor and elderly by requiring us to rent cable boxes for BASIC TV. My bill went up 333% from $180 to $600 per year. I've disconnected and will no longer get any warnings of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes or flood. I also can't vote since I'll be uninformed. Please complain to your governor, senator, PSC, congressmen. STOP THIS OUTRAGE BY CABLEVISION.

  • @bdog381 Well that was a year ago now their internet is truly failing but that is because of the large amounts of broadband being used by people with netflix and such

  • @bdog381 Many companies don't inform you of WHY prices change. My cell phone bill "extra charges" change almost monthly and I never get an explanation as to why. I can just tell you that when I would process new accounts, during the credit check some people turned out to owe us thousands of dollars for unreturned equipment. Why? Cable boxes and high speed modems are expensive.

  • @bendes19 thats bull because i had it and thier signal would be caught off many times and took 3 hrs for them to send back the signal to our modem

  • @leestevens hell yea that true!

  • @Halljand we just started ordering time warner and we had changing rates that werent even explained

  • I work for TWC. One reason rates increase is due to other customers becoming delinquent, not returning equipment if they cease service, etc. It costs the company money to lose equipment and to have an account delinquent. Rates raise to fill the gap. It isn't fair, but it keeps the company from tanking.

  • Funny thing is ...nowhere in any of these long list of replys did i see the truth ...The FCC regulates rates ..Not TWC

  • Where haven't you gone and seen prices increase? Lets just be realistic about it, everything is going up. And as for why you can't pay for channels that you watch. Call up nbc, fox etc, and ask them why they ask companies to bundle them with regular packages. What people don't realize is that Cable and sattelite companies have to pay broadcasters in order to show their programming and if we don't submit to their demand (FOX!!) they will defame your company.

  • Cables not the worst of it DWP rates in ten years went up 2x or 3x in part because of the Enron rip.Where did all that money go? Everything costs way more than it should in LA rents are thru the roof, more for gas, food ,and insurance and, You have a Democrat controlled government that IS screwing you. I know and got fed up and got out. Two hours to go from the valley to LAX its whacked!
