I found so many treasures here on youtube that I want to share another diamond with you to say "thank you!". Roscoe learned this from a record by Ralph Stanley done in the 1950s. This was recorded in New York City, 1961. I can't really put in words what Roscoe's voice does with me...

@kapdrums Blue tones and microtones? Please explain these. Touched my heart, this man;s entire countenance! I just knew the funny version in movie couldn't be original. This one is true closest I think to what had to have been at least one of the firsts. Thanks, it's precious and certainly appreciated by this listener. More of our roots is what we need; to keep growing.
