Our nieces are all at different stages and live a days drive from us so our input is minimal. L is 8 and is sitting on a uni for the first time. J is 9, she started about 10 months ago, she has been struggling due to lack of practice, in the last couple of days we have seen her ride 100's of meters on her own and Km's holding my hand on and off. Not being able to freemount was putting J off but I have convinced her that it is totally acceptable for people to use a hold to mount and that some people take months to learn to freemount. On our last ride was approx 3km and she did really well off road and even dropped small gutters! C is 14 and had her first 30min try yesterday and today she did really really, really well. Her best ride today was about 30m and with less than 2 hours in the saddle! C doesn't have a uni yet but with some luck mum will get her a QUAX 20" Cross soon. N is Js' big sis she is 13 and a dancer, she also started 10 months ago. She is a very focused and determined girl, I think she was riding well within a fortnight of receiving her QUAX 20" Cross . She practices when she can but this isn't often due to her school and dancing work load. N had never ridden hills or off road till now. This past week she has been on some big rides with us including big hills and lots of off road. Well done N, A+ for practice and determination. N now wants to hop, idling and ride backwards next, I have taught her the basics of these so she has heaps to practice till the next time we meet. Very proud of you all girls, we are very lucky to have such talented nieces.
