http://www.MdRoofingServices.com When "three-tab"shingles get old, the factory sealant gets old, dries out, and ceases to keep the shingles sealed together ...
This home in North Potomac Maryland has old Certainteed XT20 shingles (20 year), and they're starting to blow off like mad. It seems like when you repair or replace the shingles, a wind comes along and blows double the amount off the next time.
Yes, it's time for a new roof. Meanwhile, Home Restorations has performed a roof repair to carry the roofing system through until next spring (hopefully). Repairs completed:
1. Replaced and sealed about 40 - 50 shingles
2. Replaced old leaky pipe collars with new aluminum and neoprene units
3. Screwed down and sealed existing metal ridge vents.
4. Cleaned up all debris and used our super trick nail magnet for nail eradication.
Nice work! We'll be back in the spring to put on the new roof! Architectural Shingles anyone?
